About Us

As a jointly accredited provider, the National Center Office of Interprofessional Continuing Professional Development (National Center OICPD) works closely with organizations and programs across the country to consult on and support the design and development of continuing education and professional development programming for the team. The National Center OICPD maintains a commitment to working with practice and education partners to think in new ways about interprofessional workforce development, with a focus on what matters most to those being served.
 

The National Center OICPD is able to award the professional credit below:

  • Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)
  • Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
  • American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB)
  • Interprofessional Continuing Education Credit (IPCE)


Our History and Strategic Partnership:

The National Center’s Interprofessional Continuing Education Program (IPCE program) was jointly accredited in December 2015 and was reaccredited in 2017. In 2020, the National Center formed the National Center OICPD with the University of Minnesota School of Nursing and the College of Pharmacy to advance the continuum of professional and interprofessional lifelong learning through innovation, research and continuous quality improvement. In 2021, the National Center OICPD was awarded Joint Accreditation with Commendation through December 2027.

The National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education’s Office of Interprofessional Continuing Professional Development improves the health of the nation by advancing the continuum of professional and interprofessional lifelong learning through innovation, research and continuous quality improvement. 

We strive to optimize the knowledge, experience and well-being of healthcare teams by improving team skills, competencies, and performance leading to improved education and health outcomes that matter most to the individuals, families, communities, and populations served.
